Spending Time in Anaheim – The Societal Team Attends Drug Delivery Summit 2024

The Drug Delivery Summit was held on February 28-29 in Anaheim, CA. It was a smaller, intimate event that included ~75 innovators and service providers. Key industry representatives presented new drug delivery technologies, formulation design for poorly soluble compounds, strategies to overcome the barriers of pulmonary drug delivery, understanding performance requirements for combination products, and local sustained release of therapeutics with hydrogel technologies, to name a few.    

The presentations were broken up with networking opportunities over coffee and lunch. The smaller venue allowed the technology/service providers an avenue to get an audience with industry leaders such as Amgen, BMS, AstraZeneca, Merck, and Insmed.  

One of the improvements made at this year’s summit was including a speed networking session. This included three rounds of conversation with 5-6 randomly chosen people.  It provided enough time to introduce yourself and summarize your company and your interest at the summit. This was an excellent ice-breaker to spur follow-up conversations.

Overall, the event provided a unique market opportunity to showcase the latest technical developments and know-how and a chance to engage with industry experts who shared the common goal of improving patient experience.
